About the program

This course blends theoretical principles with practical applications, covering key areas such as preliminary investigations, subgrade evaluation, earthworks, drainage, and pavement materials. Participants will explore the full construction lifecycle, including contract management, safety, equipment use, and quality assurance, ensuring they are equipped to manage time, cost, and risk effectively.

Learners will gain insights into geometric design fundamentals, earthmoving operations, pavement materials and the construction of both sealed and unsealed roads. The course also addresses roadside infrastructure, including signage, barriers, and landscaping, as well as environmental considerations like drainage and floodway design. Through case studies and worked examples, participants will develop the skills needed to contribute to road projects across various terrains and conditions. This program is ideal for engineers, technicians, and professionals involved in road construction and maintenance.

Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Gain an understanding of the fundamentals of site investigation and road construction operations.
  • Experience a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in construction, operability, design, and maintenance of road facilities.
  • Study the processes involved in loosening, removing, and depositing earth, soil, and rock, as well as earthworks and preparing pavement foundations after pavement structure construction.
