About the program

The process involves extracting hydrogen from water through electrolysis, which utilizes renewable energy sources such as wind or solar power. During electrolysis, an electrical current breaks down water molecules into their constituent elements: hydrogen and oxygen.

This course explores how green hydrogen is produced and utilized in various industries. This course also covers current and future opportunities.

After completing this course, you will be able to

  • Understand the basic difference between different color coding of hydrogen
  • Know the fundamental properties of hydrogen
  • Understand the various technologies to produce green hydrogen
  • Evaluate the current and future energy market trends

Certification

To obtain a certificate of completion for EIT’s Professional Certificate of Competency, students must achieve a 65% attendance rate at the live, online fortnightly webinars. Detailed summaries/notes can be submitted in lieu of attendance. In addition, students must obtain a mark of 60% in the set assignments which could take the form of written assignments and practical assignments. Students must also obtain a mark of 100% in quizzes. If a student does not achieve the required score, they will be given an opportunity to resubmit the assignment to obtain the required score.

Modules included

  • Introduction to Hydrogen Technology
  • Introduction to Green Hydrogen Technology
  • Drivers and Barriers for Green Hydrogen Production Technologies
  • Green Hydrogen Production by Water Electrolysis – Fundamentals
