About the program

This program aims to impart the necessary remote engineering, mechatronics, and robotics skills, and all the theory covered is tied to a practical outcome. Four threads run through the program to give you maximum, functional coverage in the field. These threads comprise electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, computers, and control systems.

Graduates will have the knowledge and skills to contribute to the capacity of robotics and mechatronics engineering and related industries to maintain their competitiveness in a global marketplace through the application of the latest technologies, value-adding to existing products, processes and services and the development of new, sustainable and innovative solutions.

Upon completion, students should be able to:

  • Understand contemporary issues in robotics and mechatronics engineering practice
  • Apply electrotechnology knowledge to understand key components of robotics and mechatronics, including actuators, mechanics, kinematics, and circuits (analogue & digital)
  • Design and apply closed-loop systems, programming tools and PIC programs for robotics

Modules included

  • Remote (Online) Engineering
  • Use Basic Mathematics in Engineering
  • Electro-Technology
  • Actuators
  • Robot Mechanics
