About the program

The Graduate Diploma of Engineering (Industrial Automation) is designed in consultation with industry and addresses the growth and emerging technologies in the Automation and Process Control industry. The program offers eight core units to provide the knowledge, skills and professional competencies required for this industry. The course is aimed at engineers with a background in instrumentation & control, electrical, chemical, networking, electronics, or industrial computer systems engineering, who seek to advance their career and to build on their current engineering specialisation.

This 1-year-long course offers eight core units that is designed to equip you with communication (oral and written) skills to investigate, analyse and present technical ideas, information and solutions on the key aspects of Industrial Automation related problems and projects in a professional, independent and organised manner, individually and in teams, within the engineering domain.

There is a global shortage of automation, instrumentation, and control engineers due to the rapid growth of new industries and technologies. This program equips students with core competencies and the associated knowledge and aptitudes required of engineers working with automation.
